About American Trombone
We, the American Trombone Quartet, are recording our first album, "Premiere!", this December at Legacy Hall at Columbus State University.
One of our main missions in the ATQ is to commission new works for the trombone quartet genre. On "Premiere!" we are proud to feature commissioned compositions by John Cheetham, Jacob ter Veldhuis, Paul Johnston, and Mark Rheaume. We will also record Jan Koetsier's Concertino with pianist Peter Marshall, keyboard player of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.
Drawing on the expertise of colleagues in the trombone community, Dr. Bradley Palmer will produce the project and Jason Robins will be the recording engineer.
In order to make this project a success, we need your help! Any amount of support is greatly appreciated and will not go unnoticed.
Since 2015, ATQ has been performing at universities, conferences, and festivals across the country. We love sharing our passion for chamber music and exploring new repertoire for the trombone quartet idiom. Completing this project will enable us to share our work with you and audiences across the world. In 2019 we will appear at the University of Florida International Brass Festival and the Lille Trombone Festival in France, and in 2020 we will appear at the Brasscination Festival in Atlanta, GA.
