Did you just become a patron of the arts, my art?! Yes, yes you did. THANK YOU - every single patron and dollar makes a difference to me! And... every dollar you contribute earns you Beecher Bucks that you can use toward the purchase of any original Beecher painting purchased directly from me.
In addition, as an official patron, you'll have access to my patron-only feed with peaks into the studio and random thoughts on my creative process. And of course you will receive a personal thank you message, because I really am grateful.

You're now a patron with (additional) benefits! You'll have access to my patron-only feed with peaks into the studio and random thoughts on my creative process, and you'll receive a printable wallpaper featuring my artwork every month.

I have no idea what printable wallpaper is, or how it's done, but apparently it means something to anyone who was born after the advent of home computers and I'm happy to share my art with you in this hi-tech way.

You'll also be pocketing Beecher Bucks to use toward future purchases.
$12
per month
That's less than £10 in the UK most days, or just about what it costs to go on a coffee date at Starbucks, and you'll get something far more long-lasting than a venti latte.

You'll receive all the previous rewards, PLUS... a set of 5 Beecher notecards with envelopes (sent to you on our 6 month anniversary) and your choice of an original 5x5in painting (similar to the image below) on hardibacker paper on our annual anniversary.

And, as always... every dollar you contribute earns you Beecher Bucks that you can use toward the purchase of any original Beecher painting purchased directly from me.

About Art by Beecher

Hi All - Thank you for making it to my Patreon page, I appreciate all the love and support you have given me and my art over the years.

My Situation: I am Rodney Beecher Roberts. I feel I have been an artist all my life, but wasn't able to devote myself to painting full time until I moved to England in 2002 on an artist visa. There I was able to develop my art business exhibiting in London, Paris and Herefordshire. I built a substantial body of artwork and a following of collectors.
About two years ago circumstances brought me back to the States. I've since resettled in North Carolina to be near my family and grandchildren. And now it's time to get back in the studio and create new artwork.

Unfortunately, it isn't all that easy "starting over" at my age and I'd love your help relaunching my art career. I'm obsessed with creating art — it's the most fun I've ever had doing anything. The older I get, the more ideas I seem to have, and the more urgently I want to paint, but I also still need to make a living and not everyone who loves my artwork is ready for a new painting each month.

The way Patreon works is art lovers can donate whatever they want per month and the donation is recurring each month after that. So anything, from $1/month up, is hugely helpful to the cause.

What I'll Use the Money For

My initial goal is $5,000/month. That money plus income from sales will be enough to support me, indefinitely. Here are Art by Beecher costs:

  • The internet. Online exposure is crucial in building a new audience here in the States and reconnecting with collectors worldwide. But, when it comes to computers, I am a total technophobe. Not only do I not know what most of the following things are, I need others to do them or make them happen: website, online galleries, email platforms, newsletter, photography and photo editing, video editing, patron feeds, facebook boosts...
Here's where you can find my art online:
  • Art materials. Paint, varnish, canvas, panels, matts, frames, and when building a body of work for an exhibition, storage space.
  • One employee. As explained above need someone to handle all things techie and a bunch of other little jobs like writing press releases, archiving artwork, and researching galleries, grants and residencies. These things end up adding up to a few hours every day, and without this employee, I end up asking my wife to do it all and she has much less time to do her work.
  • Me. I need to continue to eat things, buy new guitar strings, rent a movie or two from redbox, and occasionally wear something other than paint spattered clothes.

That's the basics. With those pieces covered, Art by Beecher can support itself. Once Art by Beecher is sustainable I will start working toward the "Stretch Goals" - exhibitions and projects that I want to achieve over the next year or two.

Anyway, for now the goal is to get up and running and I appreciate your support whether that's becoming a patron or sharing my art with your family and friends.
Goals
$90 of $250 per month
Hitting this goal would be incredibly exciting and will keep the paint flowing... as well as provide me with enough tech support to pull back the curtain and invite you into the studio via pictures and posts on the feed.
