I am an indie game developer currently taking care of my Mother who is in very bad health. She has end stage COPD, and just had open chest quadruple bypass surgery. Her condition prevents me from getting a day job and severely limits the free time I have to develop the 3 games I am working on.

I am an indie game developer. I have taken care of my mother for the last 6 years of her life. Sadly she has passed on.... I started this Patreon the day before she went into the Hospital the final time, and never finished writing the About until now... Shortly after her passing I was in a vehicle accident and broke my back and a hand. It took me months just to get new glasses so I could use my computer again... My back is mostly healed, but my hand seems like it will never be quite the same again....  I've started looking for work, but 200 jobs applications put out and only 2 callbacks, neither of which hired me.... I was already very depressed with mom's passing, and became even more so while I was bed ridden and nearly blind (my vision without glasses is extremely bad). Now, I find that I can't seem to get a job, and it is pushing me to the very edge of my sanity.... What little money Mom left me in her account is already gone towards bills. I am hoping that I can complete one of my games, and be able to sell it on Steam. Game development isn't quick and easy of course.

The 3 4 games are a space craft building and space exploration game, a story driven post apocalyptic stealth mystery game, and a story driven zombie survival game. Finally, I've also started work on a MUD.

In the space game, you will build and maintain your space craft from the inside out. You will use your ship to explore a small dwarf galaxy looking for resources and new technologies. Depending on how much time I can spend on the game, and the difficulty of adding the features you will be able to colonize worlds, deal with alien civilizations, and share your galaxy with other players in multiplayer.

The post apocalypse stealth mystery game takes place in an isolated colony, where something is amiss. You will have to explore the colony, and as you start learning whats going on you will have to rely on stealth to move forward. The future of the colony, and perhaps all of humanity rests on your shoulders.

In the zombie game, you will have to make your way home on foot to your family, while defenseless save for your wits, as the world around you begins to decay into a zombie nightmare. I want to hide certain details about this game until I'm ready to demo it, as it's meant to be a mind F***.

Lastly, the MUD I am developing. I am developing this MUD to be an opensource MUD in C#. I started this project because I first learned how to program by modifying CircleMUD in the 90's and again in early 2000's, and I wanted to give back to the community that gave me my started in game development. CircleMUD was supposed to be getting an OO (Object Oriented) and threaded upgrade, but never did. I am programming the MUD in C# which is an OO-language, and am making rapid progress. Those of you who have also worked with the Circle codebase will likely see the similarities, as the engine is strongly inspired by what I remember. Though with my own changes more towards what I think a modern MUD needs. The game will be playable through the traditional Telnet, and through a web browser using a websockets client. I shall program the MUD only on weekends, because I need to finish the at least one of the games that could potentially provide me an income, before concentrating on the MUD.

All patreons get a vote on which game I should be concentrating on developing. I won't promise to always go by the votes, inspiration and creator's block will have their say. But what games you want worked on more is important to me. Don't worry, if you lose the vote for now...  My games share a lot of code, so working on one, will often improve the others.

You get the say! When I've got a question, you'll be one of the few that can answer through polls and comments. You will also get a 15% off code whenever I launch a game on steam.
Exclusive content
$10 or more per month
When I release a game, all of my current $10 or greater Patrons will recieve Patron exclusive ingame content. In the space game (codenamed Kepler), this will be exclusive ship parts. While in the stealth and horror games this will probably be exclusive clothing options. You will also release a 50% off code whenever I release a game a steam.

Depending on the game, my games will range from $25 to $80. But as a Patron at the $25 level, you'll get any game I release free. You've more than earned it.
Goals
$0 of $250 per month
I wont have to get my food from the Food Pantries anymore. In celebration I will work at least 4 hours a day, 4 days a week, on one of my 3 games under development. The rest of the time will be spent trying to find a day job...
