Welcome!

As a mixed media artist my intention is to create something engaging that invites the viewer to step closer, to see and enjoy the individual elements that make up the whole. When a new piece is finished, it means I have come to the end of an exciting journey that may have introduced me to new materials or pushed me to develop new techniques. It is this journey and discovery of making art that inspires me every day.

Creating art has always been a part of my life, but it wasn’t until 2014, after encouragement from private collectors, that I decided to dedicate myself full-time to pursuing my passion.

I am part of what is called the “Sandwich generation” - I am sandwiched between my aging parents who need care and raising my own children. It is stressful, unpredictable and often overwhelming; However I will continue to hold on until they are ready to let go.

Ageing is something I try to embrace. While it’s sometimes hard to look in the mirror and see someone that looks a lot like my mother, it is often harder to look at my teenage daughter and remember what I used to look like. Do I celebrate and enjoy all of the wisdom of age? Yes! But I can’t lie and pretend I don’t miss looking and feeling like my younger self.

My art helps me explore my feelings about aging and the difference between what I see and what I remember. I'm grounded in realism, I know what’s really there. Covering and surrounding it with texture, color and line, is my way of wrapping the reality in beauty.

Thank you for visiting and I hope you will support my artistic vision.
