I am an artist, actress, mother, environmental activist, and content producer. In recent years, I have been traveling across the country searching for a deeper understanding of the issues related to global warming, while maintaining a specific focus on its solutions.

In Texas, I was educated by Al Gore as part of his Climate Reality Leadership Corps. In Pennsylvania, I received climate advocacy training from the Citizens Climate Lobby. In Colorado, I attended the American Renewable Energy Day Summit which gathered some of the greatest minds working on the world's biggest problems, where I was a panel speaker. And in NJ, I spoke at the Cooperative Impact Social Innovation Conference sponsored by Princeton University.

In Washington DC, while lobbying for climate action with the American Sustainable Business Council and CCL, I became aware that, while we had made some important progress, there were some politicians who would never lead their constituents on climate action. They would never lead their constituents in the fight against the fossil fuel lobby. They would never lead their constituents in challenging the status quo that those same constituents had become so accustomed to. These senators and congressmen would never lead. They were, in fact, waiting for their constituents to lead them.

This is when I realized that it was time for me to refocus my energies on my passion project, REVOLUTION EARTH, which had always been central to my journeys. A love triangle between a single mother, an environmental activist and a fossil fuel lobbyist, REVOLUTION EARTH would help make environmental action entertaining and easy for constituents across the country. I had enlisted the help of Golden Globe Award-winning writer/producer, Jeff Abugov (Roseanne, Cheers, Two and a Half Men) to help me shape and refine the story. The plan was to use dramatic narrative entertainment to inspire environmental activism by linking to carbon-cutting actions that support a green economy. Fiction. Based on fact.

During my research into the issues related to this story, I became painfully aware of the extent to which my home state of Florida was being immediately endangered by the fossil fuel industry. Not only had they threatened the second largest water aquifer in the world, which bubbled up into the beautiful natural springs throughout my state, but my hometown and my family had been increasingly threatened by extreme weather and sea level rise. The "Sunshine State" had spent decades rejecting solar energy while it embraced a 60% reliance on 'natural gas', which was polluting its waters and releasing methane into the atmosphere (a greenhouse gas which is 82 times more potent than carbon dioxide). My friend Varushka Franceschi had coincidentally been documenting the repercussions of this dependence on the other end of the pipeline system. She had interviews with people who had their lives destroyed and turned upside down by the fracking industry in Pennsylvania. Some of whom had already died from 'natural gas' poisoning and others whose homes and farms had been taken away or destroyed. And so, my research for REVOLUTION EARTH has also been inspiring the formation of a documentary which would address the dangers of the natural gas pipeline system up and down the east coast. A system which has taken lives, and is threatening lives now and into the future. I consider it a #MeToo movement for the Earth, with a particular focus on the many ways mothers can get involved to protect their children.

There are people all over this country who have important stories to tell. Ways that they have had their lives turned upside down and destroyed by the fossil fuel industry. I want to tell those stories, while empowering the rising movement to build a better future.
