About Gwen Sampè
Music is my journey, the road I travel, the light that brightens my path. In poetry, in dance, in performance, it is music that guides me, it is the golden-hued tapestry woven into the the fibers of my being. And it is what I do best. A simple truth.
I am Gwen Sampé, Gwennie Jewel as I sometimes quietly call myself. I sing, I write music and poetry and I perform. I need time and the luxury of an uncluttered life. Time to write, to finish my book, to compose, and to choreograph my performance shows.
What do I need? Time and Space
Over the years I have been teacher, accountant, chef, entrepreneur and etc. and etc., but it is time that I devote myself 100% to my art, to music, to dance, to poetry and to all those unclassifiable things I do with my voice and body. But time, the freedom to create is what is needed. My book of poetry, already started, needs to be finished, my compositions are wanting a studio to be recorded in, my performances should be filmed. And I need to prepare for my first international arts festival in Venice, as a soloist! (More on that in my special patron post.) Surrounding all this creative activity there are the practical needs in order for it to happen - rehearsal spaces, recording studios, a video camera for recording, graphic design and designers, publicity... maybe even a real piano.
And this is where you come, those who choose to help me on my journey, those who have followed my career for years now and hopefully newcomers as well. Independent artists have to rely on you, to create the culture, the music, the literature, the dance, that stuff which is vital but often under appreciated.
And in Exchange
I will post regular updates of my music and shows, videos and live streaming, as well as excerpts from my book, I will upload poetry readings.exclusive to members of my community.
And since I am still particularly extremely interested cooking, I’ll even treat you to a few of my fantastically inventive recipes. (It’s all part of culture!) And of course a deep sincere thanks and appreciation for your support as I journey on.
