About me:
Thank you so much for visiting my Patreon page. My name is Herrick and I am an author that creates serialized fiction that is focused on high fantasy and science fiction. I release new content bi-weekly.

My fantasy books are character focused high-fantasy. Penndarius Greyson takes on the role of the avatar of the Green-Eyed God of Creation. His protector Soren Luna Mortalitas joins Penndarius on his journey in order to reclaim his lethal family's humanity. Each full-sized book amplifies the stakes by cramming world-altering events into a single day.

My science fiction books are popcorn popping action fueled rides. Dane unleashes the power of the Kinetic Redirection and Interaction Suit to save his family from the maniacal Doctor Dobson.

A Call To Action:
Your support matters to me because I can connect directly with you, my readers. For so many writers, the only way they get feedback is after a book has been released. This is a crazy unique opportunity because your feedback goes right to me and I can interact with you all to find out what you want more of. But that isn't possible unless you let your own voice be heard. Back this Patreon and give yourself a voice in my writing process. Even 1$ a month will buy a snack or an energy drink to help me power through a long writing session.  At higher tiers of support, your money is being used for finishing that final product. This patronage makes you a part of the publishing process and will be felt for years to come.

Book Descriptions:

Dane O’Breine was content to hide from his past as a political prisoner, then he learned that his daughter had been kidnapped by the maniacal Doctor Dobson.

To save his daughter, he’ll need to escape from a prison in Earth’s atmosphere, free his brother from the largest military base in the world, and overcome a menagerie of opponents, such as black-ops soldiers, failed experiments, advanced mechanized robots, and so much more. All the while, dealing with the haunting shadows of his past.

Dane awakens the bio-organic augmentations inside his body and unleashes the explosive power of the kinetic redirection and interactions suit. Now, nothing can stop Dane from saving his family and crushing Doctor Dobson’s secret empire once and for all.

Penndarius Greyson was content deciphering ancient manuscripts until he read the wrong one and gets possessed by a demon.

Now it is up to scholar Penndarius Greyson and his tormented protector, martial artist Soren Luna Mortalitas, to stop a crisis that would send shock waves through the very fabric of creation. In addition, Penndarius is waging an internal battle with a disembodied presence attempting to possess his mind.  A dark host of demons will be unleashed into the world and the only way to stop them is by solving a mystery as old as time itself. There is a catch: they only have 12 hours to do it in.

Why do you call them episodes instead of chapters or issues?
My distribution platform (Tapas) calls every release an episode, to keep the same jargon, I'm calling them episodes instead of issues or chapters.

Current project statuses:

K.R.I.S. Publishing:
Queued: 15 episodes from, First Impact.
Being edited:
the remaining episodes from First Impact
Being written: sequel series 1/3 completed. Planned for 40-50 episodes.

A Scholar's Journey publishing:
Queued:
47 episodes from, The Divine Tempest
Being edited:
60 episodes from the sequel, A War of Lies
Being written: sequel series 1/3 completed. (Roughly 15 episodes) planned for 40-60 episodes.

In Pre-Production:
The third book in the K.R.I.S. series (Science Fiction)
The third book in The A Scholar's Journey series (Fantasy)
A sequel series to the K.R.I.S. saga, which will feature many returning characters (Science Fiction)

How much content is published weekly?
Between 1,500-2,500 words of my K.R.I.S. series and 1,500-2,500 words in my A Scholar's Journey series per a week. I aim to average about 2,000 words a week. However, for narrative purposes, the amount will vary between 1,500-2,500 words per episode. At an average of 4,000 words per week (2,000 per episode), that is equal to 16,000 words per month (roughly).

How many weeks of published content per a year?
You will receive 48 weeks of published content per a year with 2 releases per a week. The 4 remaining weeks will be dedicated to backlog work and rest (such as the Christmas holiday). I will be completely transparent about which weeks are backlog weeks as much as possible. In extreme circumstances where I need to take a hiatus (such as for health reasons or to catch up) I'll be as transparent as possible, but due to the current amount of content that I have that is unpublished but is fully written, I do not foresee that being an issue for 2 years at a minimum.

How to read my work:
  • Tapas: Tapas a serial publishing group. You can read each chapter every Friday using your web browser or integrated app for your phone or tablet. Click Here
  • To download the Tapas App for mobile:
  • Amazon: I will publish finished books on Amazon.
  • Here: You can read my stuff on Patreon as well in the posts section. Early access is available to subscribers.

Published Works for purchase:
  • A scholar's Journey: The Divine Tempest Click Here
How will I be able to read the early released content for higher patron tiers?
In a Patreon post that goes up one day prior. I will take feedback and if there is another method people prefer, I'll do that as well.

Do you have any other series in production?
Yes. But, writing them would take away from the current release schedule for my other books. If I am going to publish them, I will be doing so as side projects. Side projects like will only be released in serial fashion when they are completed.

If I back midway through will I get to read previous releases?
Yes, by backing this Patreon you support future releases, not past releases. All of my past content is fully available to be read as it is released on Tapas.

Why are higher tiers more expensive?
Those specific tiers are designed for people that want to support work with higher amounts of money. I will absolutely deliver everything I can to make those tiers of support worth the money. Additionally, the reason is to get this patreon higher up, so that I can begin dedicating more of my time and also begin unlocking more ways to enjoy the series.

What other ways are you planning?
Audiobooks and comics are the current plans. Due to the production costs associated with each, I am placing those as tier reward goals. I will need to involve and pay additional professionals to assist in those types of content. I want to assure you, no matter what the writing will always continue as planned. These other goals are side projects and are intended to enhance your enjoyment, but will not replace it.

Where does your money go?
Editing, energy drinks, bills, pop tarts, and Gushers. (Mostly editing) Once stretch goals are unlocked, the additional money will go toward additional add-ons such as audiobook versions of each book and also comic book adaptions. These will become available in the same format as the writing, early access followed by full release for everyone to enjoy a day or a few days later. I promise you that at all times the monetization is meant to support the creation.

Who makes/draws your book covers?
I do!

How does music fit into your writing process?
Every chapter is based off one song and I try to time writing beats to certain aspects of the song itself. You may notice themes in a song that are present within the writing, which is my intention.

Why are you serializing a book you've already published?
The Divine Tempest is part of an ongoing series and I want to get my readership used to reading it in a serialized fashion. This will continue with the sequel. In the meantime, The Divine Tempest is still available for purchase on Amazon. 0.99$ digital without Amazon Prime or you can read it for free if you do. Alternatively, you can buy it for 9.99$ physical.

Long term goals:
Currently, I pay for my editing costs out of pocket. I will be using Patreon to supplement those editing costs. As the Patreon begins to take off, I will begin using the money to supplement my income to enable me to dedicate more time to writing and interacting with my patrons.

Would you consider a movie deal?
Hell yes!

Will there be higher tiers of support in the future?
Yes. I want to get the current tiers of support right first. Later down the line I'll ask what you would find value in for higher tiers of support.

How to reach me:
Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions. I will attempt to respond as quickly as possible. The best way to do that is via facebook.
