Homeless Living is an experiment in Gonzo Journalism that seeks to travel around North, South, and Central America providing validation and support to hard-working mavericks whose lifestyles, means of living, and values are looked down upon by modern western capitalist society. Specifically, our focus is directed at the engineering and creative accomplishments of people living on the fringes of society in non-traditional situations.

The ultimate goal of the Homeless Living project is to legitimize and protect these peoples' homes and communities from those who wish to label them as blighted, eyesores, unsanitary, litter, nuisances, in order to demolish these hard-won communities and send the residents to go live in institutions.

Just because a person's home is not up to your privileged "first world" standards does not mean that person is impoverished or unsanitary. To take that person out of a situation that is comfortable to them and force them to live in unfamiliar means with added expenses and responsibilities that they aren't used to dealing with only leads to perpetuate the cycle of poverty.
