About

J.S. Campbell is an emerging Author and Poet. His publications include the poetry collection On Driftwood and Oblivion which explores isolation, detachment, and the longing for meaning. The poems travel time and space, from modern and ancient wars in the Middle East, to the declining natural world, from struggles in the LGBTQ community, to the systematic atrocities committed against Native Americans. His lyrical journey collection, Reminiscences of My Dead-end Street , follows someone’s quest for meaning and love in a culture and society in decay through the proliferation of technology and the dehumanization that it brings. He also has written several works of short fiction including A Day At The Beach and My Dream House.

Currently, he is working on his first novel about friends in the 1980's loosing track of each other while they navigate through sexual orientation and identity issues as they journey to present day and reconnect for a wedding. Patrons will get exclusive access to the chapters.
On the non-fiction front, J.S. is currently a contributing freelance writer for the online news publication, The Latest and his insightful contributions can be found weekly.
He is an active member of the Academy of American Poets, the Poetry Society of Virginia, and The Hemingway Society.
On a personal note, he resides in his native Virginia and loves music, reading, film, soccer and rescue dogs.
