About Mark de Groot

Who am I?
First off: Thanks for checking out my Patreon page! My name is Mark de Groot. I have a Youtube channel called "JorporXx (pronounced: your-pour-X-X)" on which I sing covers. Most of my covers are English versions of anime openings/endings.

I started fandubbing in 2006 and booooy was I bad! Luckily I found some of the most amazing and honest friends on Youtube who taught me a lot. Most of the content I made were fandubs, until I shifted to singing in 2009. I couldn't sing at all, so I started looking at YouTube videos on how to sing. And until this day, I haven't had a single real singing lesson. When I look at where I am now and compare it to my work in 2009, I'm really happy with how far I have come, but there is still a lot more to learn...

So why Patreon?
Let's start off by saying, I really don't care about money. I work a full time job to pay my rent and live. YouTube started off as a hobby, but it became more of a passion recently. I want to start doing it seriously and more professionally. By that I mean: use custom instrumentals, license the covers I do and release them legally on YouTube, iTunes, Spotify, etc... Also take singing and mixing lessons, to improve the quality of my content even further. The thing is, all this costs money. And with Youtube giving less and less money to it's creators... That's where Patreon comes in!

If we reach this goal, I'll be sure to make more full covers instead of just tv-size. This is more costly, so that's where the money will go!
