Meet the Kid Quixotes! Now and for the next 5 years, a group of 20 Spanish-speaking immigrant children in Brooklyn, ages 5 to 18, are collectively translating the novel Don Quixote from Spanish into English and adapting it as a series of brief, bilingual, musical "Adventure Plays" called The Traveling Serialized Adventures of Kid Quixote. The kids write the songs and the script together, and they perform the shows in non-theatrical settings around New York City, including private homes, college classrooms (Columbia University, New York University, Hunter College) and government offices (City Hall and the Consulates of Mexico and Ecuador). Migrant children tell their story through great literature and in the process they discover that they do belong, in this group, this city, this country and in the worlds of higher education and civic power. Follow their journey right here! Muchas gracias to everyone who has hosted us and sponsored the ongoing writing and the ongoing tour!
