KNUT ANDRE VIKSHÅLAND is one of the very few figurative art painters in Norway. He is self-taught, and has developed his distinctive style based on the color of nature laws and Goethe's color theory.
Visual artist Knut Andre Vikshåland and born on Karmøy in 1968, resident and with Atelié in Oslo for more than 20 years. He is one of the very few figurative artists in Norway. He is self-taught and has developed his distinctive style based on the color of nature laws and Goethe's color theory. He is mainly concerned with the picturesque, color, light and texture in their oil paintings. He completed his three and a half year-long art education in Stavanger 24 years old. The last six months immersed himself in the design Act under Terry Smith Love. He completed his education with very good results. At the forefront was he trained welder with certificate 19-year-old, by Haugesunds HMV.
Knut Andre Vikshåland and has achieved great interest both from the audience, from the media, achieved critical acclaim including at the graduate exhibition in 1992 from art school in Rogaland, with more. There is a rich archive of artist. Knut Other has worked actively with the Visual Arts after completing the art education. Participated on the theme-exhibitions in Haugesund artmuseum , taken various assignments including Portrait commissions. He has held a number of exhibitions, and participated in numerous collective exhibitions over the years, then on the entire West Coast, on the South coast and in Eastern Norway. In recent years he has also been acquired by leading Norwegian art collectors. It's been sold paintings from Oslo, where he had 3 solo shows, respectively, in 2005, 2007, 2010, then to the United States, Iceland, Sweden, among others.
Knut Andre Vikshåland has been represented at the juried and prestigious Western exhibition all 4 times, respectively, 1994, 1995, 1998 and Stvgr., in 2008. In 1994 he received the poster, and in 2008 the front page on one of the 3 books, at VU.
Knut Andre Vikshåland purchased to more permanent collections, then by including Karmøy municipality City Hall, Karmøy Art Association, lovisenberg Deaconess Hospital in Oslo. Purchased to Frognerseteren-where Portrait he painted mission of Norway's highest decorated war hero Gunnar Sønsteby now hangs. The portrait was unveiled in 2010 in the old Lodge at the same time with the big solo exhibition at Count Wedel in Oslo
Knut Andre Vikshåland have painted the portrait of the famous Norwegian Jewish Holocaust survivor Samuel Leon stone man that now hangs in the Holocaust Museum in Oslo, unveiled
