Before you join in the party helping to create this book, I want to thank you personally for taking the time out to come here in the first place.

This book will cover material I was never able to find when beginning and developing my career in the audio industry. I was never the savvy engineer, and like most of you reading this presumably GenY, I never grew up in the "hey-days" of the recording industry; I started out in the digital age. When the accessibility and democratisation of recording technologies were becoming available to people in their bedroom, and the operating models of audio services were quickly and drastically changing with the internet.

A lot of the resources and information I sought to help me with my audio career were no longer relevant. After six years in the industry, building, setting up, operating my mastering facility and servicing hundreds of clients and records every year I thought;

"Wouldn't it be great to create a resource that is relevant, based on my experiences and help others that are in the same position I was in not too long ago."

Ergo, this book. It's my hope the advice, strategies and details we develop here serve you as well, and you can truly be the savviest engineer you aspire to be.
