So What's This All About Then?

Hey there, the names Phil and i do Reviews, Video Essays, Lists and generally love to talk about all things animated on YouTube. i guess you'd say the "adult ones" e.g; The Simpsons, Bob's Burgers, American Dad, Rick & Morty and many more! - www.YouTube.com/c/PhilPayton

Sure, Sure...But Why Are You Here?
Well, good question. I don't have to be i guess. Question answered!.

But having thought about this site as a possibility and having had a few subscribers mention they'd be willing to support me on the ol' Patreon - which is incredibly cool that people would be willing to do that. I decided to give it a shot.

This is something I thought on for a while, i went through fazes of dismissing it, thinking no one would be interested. But those who asked about it gave me some confidence. Realistically i could have done this at anytime. But i don't believe in taking this kind of thing lightly. And now I do feel after a few years of consistently creating reviews, essays, list and so on I have proven to myself (and hopefully subs and any regular watcher) that i genuinely love talking about these shows enough to consider doing a Patreon. After all this ups the commitment even more so.

As for what the Patreon will be going towards, new and past seasons of any of the shows that i'm missing so i can use higher quality clips in my videos (though being the UK limits that for the newest episodes) As well as software, a safe place to store the reams of videos and assets that i have (computer failure would be disastrous!) and possibly upgrade my mic.

Info For Existing Subs!
For those who already watch my videos (first thanks) and i'm probably going to say this a lot but I feel like I really really need to stress this:

There is NO way i'll put any of my current or future videos on my YouTube channel behind a pay wall - i'd hate that myself and it would only limit the conversation about the shows and episodes and that's not what i want. So if you have no interest in my Patreon that's all cool, the videos (Reviews, Animated Masterpieces, lists etc...) and where they are (present and future) won't change.

What Are Ya Reviewing?
As i said i love to talk about animated TV Shows; The Simpsons, Bob's Burgers, Family Guy, Futurama, American Dad, Archer, Rick & Morty (recently added Bojack Horseman & South Park too). Using clips to validate my points in-between me explaining my thoughts i feel like i have a pretty different or if you like unique approach - at least for this genre. Here's an example for ya!

What About the Video Essay's, Eh?
Well i have a series called 'Animated Masterpieces' where i take a look at what i consider to be well....masterpieces, from a variety of shows. They aren't reviews, but hopefully i dig deep into what makes each episode so well put together - comedy, animation, visual identity, references, story themes anything that gives it that edge. The idea being to highlight those episodes of cartoons that really go above and beyond what is(or was) expected of them. And it's certainly the videos i enjoy making the most, i prefer being positive about these shows than negative. Here's an example of that too!

As well as the Animated Masterpieces series I also like discussing various other topics on episodes, the show's formula's (like 'Why Family Guy is Hard to Review'), some more goofy stuff and really any topic that i find interesting to talk about - especially if it gets people talking.

Lists, Lists, Lists We All Know What A List Is
Yep...we sure do, self explanatory. I also enjoy making lists. Top & Bottom 5s of the latest seasons, best Halloween episodes, 'Essential Episodes for 'X' character' series to just name a few. More examples!

Anything Else
Yes! maybe. Possibly expand to the shows i cover, add in movies (Who doesn't like Studio Ghibli and Pixar!?), other videos that I can't think of right now but will eventually....and stuff.

As for Rewards, i'm at maximum capacity as far as someone who's doing this "on the side" is capable of. So for now i'll keep it simple, the base and a monthly nice and easy Q&A video.

[NOTE: The 'Reward Tiers' could change depending on new ideas, time, feedback, if i get any that is. Ideas on rewards that are good and easy to deliver would be much appreciated]

Aaaaand that's about it....done. Thanks for reading.

A thanks from me for your extra support, access to the Patreon Feed and a Q &A each Month!

Extra Thoughts
$4 or more per month

As well as the previous (Feed, Q&A!) each month you'll get to see some of my extra thoughts on some episodes. Things that i couldn't fit into the review or notice as cool little details and intricacies that i want to touch on more. Not every episode will get the extra thoughts treatment but there will at least be 2 a month.
