About Ranters Theatre

Ranters makes work that responds to the social and psychological contexts of everyday life, examining the ordinary rituals of day-to-day living and the strange personal details that lie beneath the skin of social convention. We strip back the habitual codes of performance to reveal the personal idiosyncrasies and private mythologies that lie at the heart of human identity. We employ a documentary style of investigation where the artist’s personal stories become the basis for highly nuanced and stripped back performances that blur the distinction between fiction and nonfiction. The resulting work is raw, immediate and spontaneous. Ranters’ artistic rationale feeds all of the activities the company undertakes, whether it is a new work; a workshop, or touring the globe.

Goals
$23 of $500 per month
In early 2018 Ranters is planning to present our contemporary performance work made with Creative VaQi from South Korea in Melbourne. This is an ambitious work combining both creative and performers from both Australia and South Korea and the performance experience occurs both inside a theatre and outside in the local neighbourhood. We would like your support to come with us on the journey to realise this project.
