About ResearchingACure

While doing research on the Ketogenic Lifestyle about a month ago, I stumbled across a video that showed some connections with Alzheimer's Disease. That peaked my interest in a big way. My dad, 75, has been diagnosed with Parkinson's, Dementia, and Alzheimer's Disease. As I studied the Ketogenic Lifestyle in correlation with Alzheimer's disease more and more, the more it drove me to do something about it. About two weeks after the first video, I started a 7-day water fast to jumpstart my body into a state of ketosis. Ketosis is a metabolic state characterized by raised levels of ketone bodies in the body tissues, which is typically pathological in conditions such as diabetes, or may be the consequence of a diet that is very low in carbohydrates. Speaking of diabetes, Alzheimer's is now well known as Type-3 Diabetes, so it only makes sense that cutting carbs, sugars, and grains could possibly help relieve symptoms of Alzheimer's, if not put researchers on the path to find a cure. I have absolutely no medical background, but I have a dad who is still alive with a brain that is being robbed of the needed glucose it needs to keep cells alive and his brain functioning closer to normal. That's where ketones come into play because they can work much like glucose as fuel for the brain. He may be too far to be turned around, but I can't stand to see him like this day in and day out, relying on medicines that, while they may have slowed the disease down, has no chance of redirecting it. Aside from a caregiver appointed by the VA that comes for 8 hours a week, I am here with him most of the time along with the help of my mom. To even ask for money for any reason, is weird to me, but I know every second I spend here, is time I can research and give him the best care I can. Therefore, any donation given on the GoFundMe page or through PayPal, will go towards research and anything needed for research such as medical equipment, supplements and web maintenance. This money will not pay my bills or go into my pocket. 100% will go towards helping dad, minus platform transfer fees. However, any donation made to my Patreon account, will help me continue my research from home. Monthly statements will be posted on the "My Keto Journey" Facebook page. Even if you can't give, please keep my dad and my family in your thoughts and prayers as I press forward with the hopes of finding a solution that works for him.
