I have been creating as long as I can remember! I sold my first sculpture in Sculpey at the age of 13 through a local comic store and will never forget the joy it brought my first customer! His eyes lit up as he held his new sculpture in his hands, and he was so excited about it, he asked me to sign it for him!  He said he was sure I’d go on to amazing things and wanted my first autograph! It was a Spider-Man I had done to see how the new medium worked and had it on display in their “customers corner” and he arranged with the store owners to meet the sculptor... that meeting probably changed my life showing how what I did as a hobby could bring someone so much joy! As soon as it sold, I went out and bought more materials and got to work making new comic characters, monsters, and aliens! Before I knew it, I was trying my hand at new materials and got into molding and casting at the urging of friends who wanted copies of my work!

The rest was history!

I have used patron support to reinvest in my studio since the beginning and have made it a passion that includes teaching others as I go! We’ve had many successful interns go on to grow their own art careers and help others through online Q&A’s, consultation, and materials information. It has brough a lot of joy and fulfillment seeing other artists grow while helping them to avoid mistakes and pitfalls this artist’s life can bring.

2019 will see a new phase of our studio in trying to secure a larger studio location, beginning an education program to reach even more students, and working on a project for the charitable organization Give Kids the World through The Hearts of Reality. Give Kids the World Village helps and houses children (and their families!) who are facing life’s toughest challenges. I never considered being on season 9 of SyFy’s Face Off qualifies me as a “celebrity”, but it gave me the chance to be a part of something bigger! For the last three years, I have had the honor of helping with this great organization! No signs of slowing as we enter a new year!

Being a part of that fundraiser has been lifechanging, and helps put into perspective our own daily challenges! As a result, every year we seek new ways to fund raise and give back.

2019 will mark the 65th anniversary of The Creature from the Black Lagoon. We are working on a HUGE project that will see the creation of a screen-accurate replica suit to be photographed on the banks of the famous Silver Springs shore. This suit, along with potential guests such as Ricou Browning, the heirs of the creator and photagrapher of the underwater Creature scenes, and a screening of the original 1954 film, will be historic, and you will be helping make this all possible!

and that’s just the beginning of all the great projects we have in store!

your involvement is key! And as perks, you will receive updates on every project that we tackle! There are some we won’t be able to share because of Non-Disclosure Agreements, but with so many projects on the bench, there will be no shortage on information!

you will also have access to exclusive blogs, videos, and archives not seen in ages! Not to mention the ability to ask advice on how to create your own art! You won’t be alone in your search for information!

so much more info will come! This is a new stage of our studio, and we thank you for your support! Any amount is appreciated, and will go into creating art and education for all ages through community outreach at museums, conventions, and schools. There is simply not enough funding through the state to accomplish this while maintating a full-time studio and family, so it all adds up! It may seem like a drop in the bucket, but if we get enough support, there is no telling how many artists we can reach!

thank you for your help in our journey!

Creation of a screen-accurate Creature from the Black Lagoon wearable suit for the 65th anniversary of the film’s release to benefit Give Kids the World Village through The Hearts of Reality. This would cover lifecasting the model, materials for sculpting, molding, and casting the parts, and other necessary shop materials for production.
