I've been working in governance and policy for a very long time.
Most of that work has been with nonprofits and labor organizations. In the last decade, I've gotten interested in and involved with co-ops, too.

I also work with political groups - a lot. And I tend to be impolitic about it; there are no "sacred cows".

I'm always fascinated by the way different groups go about doing - and justifying - what they do. Much of this "doing" is proprietary. That means the Omnipresent They don't want you to know much about it or to meddle in their affairs. Consequently, people don't get to see the proverbial sausage being made or the implications of the policies enacted behind closed doors.

My hope is to use this Patreon account to answer the question "Yeah...but what does it mean?" I'll pluck out stories and headlines from the news - or things that should be news, but aren't covered - as well as other topics that I find interesting to try to put a little meat on those bones. If I miss anything that interests you, let me know!
