I started
Tender Hands (a tiny DIY arts and zines press + distro) this time last year when I turned my tiny bedroom into a studio. Tender Hands aims to print and distribute risograph printed matter by people of colour, queer, non-binary and trans folks. My aim is to make printing creative content more accessible, affordable and to also help diversify the DIY scenes and communities. Creating this press and making zines also allowed me to be more productive and helped me immensely in terms of my mental health. Self publishing is not only greatly liberating and empowering, but also a tremendous tool for finding, building and strengthening communities.

It is through this DIY ethos and community engagement that I started a series of accessible skill sharing workshops called MAKE STUFF, which allows people of all abilities and backgrounds a platform to simply be playful, learn, create and engage with their local creative communities. The workshops are lead by emerging creatives sharing their skill(s), which vary from printing, animation to even coding and languages. Your pledges will help me continue to provide materials, cover hiring costs and also pay the workshop leaders.

I’m now working towards making Tender Hands a physical space outside of my bedroom, so that it’s easily accessible in its true form of a community and education based printing studio. This will invite individuals, community groups and small independent institutions to learn more about Risograph printing. A new space with resources and platform to create creative and diverse content. By becoming my patron, you will be allowing me to save funds for this space to become a reality, as well as covering costs of renting and to purchase materials, such as new ink drums, master rolls, routinely printer servicing and paper. You will also have access to archives of my perzines, helpful printing and zine making guides, limited edition work and tickets to various workshops.

Thank you immensely for all your love and support. I’m wholeheartedly and eternally grateful for your appreciation and help. You can find us on
instagram and twitter and email us at [email protected] for more info.
