My name is Kira Wertz.  I'm 41 years old, but in a manner of speaking I have only recently begun to live my life.

At the age of 39 I'd suffered through decades of depression and ideations, 2 suicide attempts, addictions to food, video games, porn, and alcohol.  On August 27th 2016 all that changed when I confessed to my wife the secret that had been destroying me since I was 6 years old; I was actually a woman.

I began blogging about my transition approximately 10 months after I came out.  I have been a columnist for The Gayly, and I actively participate in Transgender support groups.  I've given speeches relative to the community, and have participated in gender diversity panels at a local community college.

By trade I am a truck driver, but it's not what I want to be doing for the rest of my life.  Driving was one of those career choices I made to prove I was a man.  And like many Trans individuals who try to "man up" to fight their feminine impulse, I failed.  What I would like to do is become a full-time advocate, unfortunately advocacy doesn't pay the bills, so I'm left juggling my commitments to the community against a 50 hour work week.  I want nothing more than for that to change.

With your continuing support through Patreon I can hopefully shift my life from full-time truck driver to full-time LGBTQ+ advocate.

Thank you so much for believing in me, and the community.
