About Weird in Lancaster / Emily Savill Photography
Weird in Lancaster is an analog photography project that showcases and celebrates the wonderfully unique people of Lancaster, PA. With a desire to bring absolute positivity to the word "weird", I regularly photograph and interview those who are bold enough to stand out. I hope to strengthen and shine a spotlight on the community of creative folks in my town.
Weird in Lancaster is never paid for photoshoots or interviews by it's subjects. It is not a marketing organization or ad agency. Every subject is picked by me, based their unique qualities and recommendations from folks in the community.
Weird in Lancaster articles are being posted for free in full to my Wix website and in part on my social media platforms, Instagram and Facebook. I would love to be able to use Patreon funds to purchase a real web domain, because http://emilysavillphoto.wixsite.com/emilysavill is really a silly looking URL and not as easily accessible. I would also love to compile sets into Zines and a nice big coffee table book once I have more content. Film, color developing, black and white chemicals, archival sheets, and gas for travel also cost money, so I would definitely use funds to help me be able to keep going without going broke. Right now a Weird in Lancaster shoot costs me between $20-$50, depending on what films I use, how they are developed, and how much gas I use for travel (if any).
I have big dreams for what I want to do with this project and I can't wait to share them with everyone! I am excited to keep creating, learning, and improving. Your support, even just by following, liking, and/or sharing my project will help give me the motivation I need!
