Romanian healthcare system sucks. There is corruption, lack of personnel as more and more doctors are leaving for the western countries and the real victims here are the patients: they are lonely, helpless and they lack quality medical aid. We have a saying here,"I'm not going to the hospital till i'm dying" - meaning that i don't want to go there unless is really serious as i might catch some other worse disease. Unfortunately, that's true. And I want to change that. I know I can't change much but I can change my patients, my entourage. From January 2017 I'm starting my life quest as a cardiologist, I've been 4 years before a paramedic too so I know the system. And I don't want to be a part of it. I don't want to emigrate either. So I might aswell try to change something. For our children's sake. And I need you guys. I don't have too much time to spend here on the computer as my work and study takes most of my day. But when I'm at the hospital, I want to change how we, doctors, behave with our patients, cause at the moment, we barely speak with them and they often leave with no clear plan, just a paper with the pills they have to take. That's because they are so many and we are so few and we simply don't have enough time.

So my idea is to create a pilot system where we can educate the patient without talking with him and regaining his trust: we take their e-mails and we send them, depending on their diagnostic, a concise handout including a short explanation of their disease, why they need to take their pills, how much sport they can do, what they should eat and they shouldn't, etc. Depending on the budget I will have, I want to gather a team to do that, including an editor, a graphician, a nutritionist etc. If the budget permits,  I want to create print-outs too.

What will you get from this? Every material I send to the patients (if you agree with that, of course) and the thanks of thousands of sick people. Maybe it's idyllic in what i'm trying to do but i'm sure it can be done. Unfortunately, since it's my personal initiative, the hospital won't support me, at least not financially so i need to do this on my own. We need to help each other, we can't just wait for the government to do all the job. I believe that if everybody think this way, the world will be a better place. Thank you for helping me make this come true.

If this gets self-sustainable , a non-profit organisation will be created where a voluntary team can deal with this on a daily basis.
