About

In 2014, we lost our local library, it was one of fourteen to close due to austerity-driven budget cuts across our community here in the Welsh valleys. It felt like we'd lost the heart of the village.

With the support of local people and the art community we saved the building from being lost at auction. With a lot of help from many people we have been running the building as an art and community hub for nearly 6 years. We are still here, even during lockdown - we've moved some of our shows into our windows and are active across social media running creative projects. It's getting harder to run as a business in these challenging times - and with the Coronavirus lockdown we are very aware of the impact on artists and local small businesses. We are having to be even more creative! But there is always someone there to lend a hand or ear, or someone to inspire us!
We are uniquely NOT publicly funded - we're trying to create a sustainable model for future artists and our community. We work closely with community and art groups and love collaborative projects. We even won a Big Draw Award last year!
Support from our supporters is crucial to helping us to keep art flourishing in out community.

We'll be posting updates, content about our activities, events and exhibitions. We'll be bring you exclusive offers, artist updates, comments and stories from our community members and we'll let you know how you can get involved with future projects!

We can a lot with a little - and we have some great benefits for our patrons...

Check out this video by Lucy Jane Purrington on the last project we did prior to lockdown : David Hurn: Ynyshir, 25 Mile Radius on Tour.
