The Artists of Raven is a joint endeavor between four artists who have lived together as best friends for over a decade. We've pooled our very different talents and personalities into a positive and productive household. We'd like to share what we're doing, who we are, and what we've learned together.

Ravenholm is the idea of a sustainable modern household that performs and shares do-it-yoursel projects, diverse human stories, and a wide range of high-quality art. We're developing a group strategy for greater self-reliance and happiness.

We all went to the Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia between 2005-2010, and have lived in the Seattle, Washington area since 2010. Like many who graduated from universities around the 2008 financial crisis we've had to adapt to a world of high debt and low stability.

In particular, artists need to innovate adaptive solutions to get by while we maintain the focus of our calling in society. The pressure to find and build safety nets to preserve ourselves often requires partnerships. Our world is high risk, but we want to leverage our partnerships beyond financial security if we can. With mutual artistic effort and understanding, partnerships can be both extremely enjoyable and productive.

We'd like to show you what that kind of understanding gives us and frees us to do. We're improving our approach to the Ravenholm experiment as we go, but we want to model a lifestyle that can help struggling artists achieve greater levels of dignity in a deeply stratified and difficult world.

Daniel Corvinus is where the "raven" affiliation originated. The name Corvinus means "of the Raven".
We identify with the animal as a symbol of our group. Dan is from New Hampshire originally, and his expertise is primarily in story telling, dance, and film making.

When the financial crisis hit in 2008, Dan was faced with the reality of having to drop out of art school while his best friends continued on without him. He soldiered on in Georgia, worked his way out of a pit of depression and destitution to eventually move with Laura to Seattle.

After a series of unfortunate office jobs, Dan has found himself working at a recreational cannabis dispensary when he isn't working on his art.

On Patreon, Dan will primarily be focusing on sharing his ideas for the group lifestyle, and writing to get his first novel published.

Laura St.Jarre is originally from Maine, but moved to New Hampshire as a teenager. She and Dan have known each other since 2003, when they were both freshmen in high school. They've been best friends ever since.

Laura and Dan left New England to go to art school in Georgia, and then moved together to Seattle around 2011. Laura is also a writer, a painter, an interactive designer, a game developer, and a synthwave composer.

Laura came out as trans and affirmed her gender in 2016. Her transition was relatively easy thanks to her very loving and supportive friends and family.

Dan's friendship with Laura has been through many changes, but their friendship dynamic is largely the same as it's always been. They've been romantic partners since the beginning of 2018.

On Patreon, Laura intends to write a memoir as one of her projects involving her trans experience and her relationship with Dan. She'll also be composing and sharing music, painting, working on her own funny indie game project about French Canadians creating a Mars colony, and working on the first volume of a hand painted/written guide to the Pacific Northwest called "Cascadia".

Jordan Sliz is originally from Georgia. He was a year ahead, but in the same degree program as Laura at SCAD (Interactive Design and Game Development). Jordan was also the first to move to the Seattle area, and went on to work at a bike shop, help start a small wine business, and is currently working with Greenpeace.

His expertise is in 3D modeling, illustration, and design. He's just entered the University of Washington's joint Master's of Urban Planning and Landscape Architecture program.

On Patreon he'll be working primarily on illustrations, urban planning projects, and his 3D indie game project.

Vex Maron is originally from Florida. He's the eldest member of the group, and specializes in illustration and tattoo designs. He overcomes severe colorblindness in order to produce really beautifully rendered art in his own style.

Vex is also an extremely adept event designer, and fashion guru. Vex's personal style combines his own goth fashion and his Wiccan beliefs.

Vex is an incredibly compassionate, mild tempered, and hard working person. He loves beer, growing out his beard, and currently works as at cannabis dispensary (not the same one as Dan).

On Patreon, he'll primarily share his tattoo designs and any series or one-off illustrations that strike his fancy.
