Hello!  I am Rafferty and I have been an artist for as long as I can recall.  I happen to really love animals too and I happen to need a service animal.  Creating art is helpful for my health and something I do regardless of the high costs of art supplies.  Since December of 2015 I decided to host a weekly "Art Night" which involves a commitment to create art (usually drawing and at times painting with oils) for a minimum of one hour per week.  Ideally I myself create more than one hour per week, but I have a goal of drawing (or painting) for a minimum of one hour per week with the #ArtNight group I established which includes my husband Michael and a number of our friends, family members, and neighbors of various ages; some professional artists and some who can only draw stick figures.  We draw and paint once each week for health reasons, to unwind, to socialize, and at times to create masterpieces.  I do not charge participants a fee because many participants are on fixed incomes, disabled, broke, etc.  Therefore your patronage allows me to provide a FREE or LOW COST #ArtNight to the community for all ages and abilities and income levels.  At times weather or lack of a decent space prohibits my ability to host "Art Night" to larger groups.  In those instances, I still commit to have an #ArtHour at home with at minimum my husband Michael.  (We do live in Minnesota, and it's possible weather/health/conditions might cause participants to have to cancel at times.  Nonetheless we commit to create our own art in our own sketchbooks for one hour or more per week for our own #ArtNight.)

ONE SMALL GOAL:
To continue to host a weekly one hour minimum #ArtNight in our community and to do so either FREE or very LOW COST.  Your contribution helps make this FREE or LOW COST for working families, low income as well as disabled artists, or anyone who otherwise could not afford this.

ONE LARGE GOAL:
If my household can raise $600 or more per month (to supplement our Social Security income), we likely will qualify for a Habitat for Humanity home loan.  Such a loan would allow our family to have an art studio space to create in and host future #ArtNight gatherings.  We pledge to create art for the rest of our lives regardless of income, but contributions from any patrons on this site will help our family get one step closer to becoming home owners.  Our animals would love to have a yard.  (We are working with a couple of housing specialists through a couple of 501c3 housing agencies.)

The first patron to contribute $1 per month (or more) for 12 months receives a signed and numbered limited edition print of the drawing "I Love You Parker!".  The original drawing was created by Rafferty in January of 2016 on an "Art Night".  In February of 2016 the print was displayed at an exhibit at Saint Paul Gallery and a number of prints were sold at the opening with a portion of proceeds benefiting the "West 7th Pet P.A.L.S." (Prevent A Litter Subsidy) fund.  Other prints were sold online and mailed to the buyer.  If you wish to receive this print in the mail, please let me know of your first and last name and mailing address.  Thank you so much for your support!
Goals
$0 of $600 per month
I will try to raise $600 (on average) per month in contributions.  This shall be used to offset the cost of art supplies and costs associated with hosting a weekly (one hour minimum) "Art Night".  Art Night will happen weekly regardless of whether or not fundraising goals have been met.
