My name is Mike and I'm the founder of the Boston Cybersecurity Alliance.  As an IT and cybersecurity professional, I've found that there is a need for localized resources to provide networking and training opportunities in the cybersecurity realm.

An undertaking of this size is something that no one can do alone, so I am calling on other cybersecurity professionals, enthusiasts, and even companies to at the very least, utilize this channel that is being provided.

Here's is mission and objectives that I propose for the Boston Cybersecurity Alliance, which can also be found on our web site.:

MISSION
Our mission is to bring together cybersecurity professionals and cyber law experts to collaborate on the cybersecurity issues we currently face.

We are a regional effort designed to recognize, address, and prevent malicious cyber activity. While most efforts to address cyber risk have been on the technology side of things, we extend the effort even further with cyber law and insurance experts to help formulate total cyber defense strategies.

Boston Cybersecurity Alliance is in the process of acquiring our 501c-3 non-profit status. We look forward to providing organizations the opportunity to make a tax-deductible donation.

OBJECTIVES
In today’s world, liability is a paramount concern. No cybersecurity defense is completely foolproof and as such, it comes down to managing risk. Even with giving your best effort, your organization can be held liable if your legal and technological cyber defenses are lacking. You could also be held liable if you fail to plan or react appropriately after a cyber attack. This brings us to our four core objectives

:• Bring together cybersecurity technical experts, insurance specialists and lawyers.
• Help facilitate discussions between these functional areas to develop best practices.
• Provide assistance with implementing solutions designed to mitigate cyber risk.
• Provide training opportunities by partnering with leading certifying bodies.

I wish I could spend more time on this project, but with the size of it, that is impossible.  With that said, I call on you for support so that we can get this organization off the ground and become the cybersecurity hub and group that brings training, cyber intelligence and other information to the Boston area.
Goals
0 of 1000 patrons
My starting goal is to reach 1000 patrons to utilize the site and to donate towards being able to hire at least a part time director.
