As a person who has wanted to tell stories since I was a wee lad, I have always purchased "how to" or "the art of" books for drawing, creating comics, writing characters and art process tips for help and inspiration. I am guessing that for you, like me, it has been a hit or miss experience. Lot's of beautiful sketches, finished artwork and notes that were for the most part written once the project was completed. And that is fine. Most of those aids work on some level.

But, what about all the ugly stuff? The half-drawn concepts that are good enough for you because you are on a deadline. Where and how are you researching what things look like and how they work? Did you set up your files wrong? You have written yourself into a corner, and you might have to chew your left leg off to get out? How much of the process is just winging it?

Or the good stuff? What software do I use for each part of the project and how does it all come together. The drafts of that written scene that capture what you wanted to say the first time correctly. The page layouts that flow perfectly, one panel to the next without cheating with caption placements. The visual looks for characters that just come together almost effortlessly.

Well, welcome to my Patreon page. You are invited to be part of a yearlong journey to create and publish my first comic-novel, documented and shared with you as it is happening. I will share it all, with the hopes that it will entertain and encourage you to go for it and create your own, whatever it is that you have to create!
