About Bryan Tuk, Musician & Writer
As a bandleader and independent recording artist, I produced two albums in 2019: Liftoff, which was an EP with my jazz power trio, and Life in High Gravity, a LP with my 14 piece band.
I have with plans for two more records in 2020 featuring original compositions from some of the Philadelphia area’s most talented young composers. These recordings will be debut recordings of theses compositions.
I am proud to be associated with my musical collaborators and this year alone employed over 30 musicians and engineers. The arts can’t be a business unless someone is out there trying to make things happen, being entrepreneurial and creating value for others.
My writing is going to be consolidated into one site: bryantuk.net, which launches soon.
My essays and the podcast go hand in hand: where do the arts and commerce intersect? The podcast, and some extra content available only to Patrons, show a pathway forward to career, and personal satisfaction.
Hosted by Bryan Tuk, author, musician and attorney, this podcast invites listeners into conversations with filmmakers, artists, musicians and non-profit CEOs about their professional and artistic journeys, their influences and the challenges they have faced along the way. This podcast has lessons and stories for aspiring artists, anyone involved in creative work and patrons and lovers of the arts.
These conversations are performances. While I go into the interviews with a loose structure, the conversation is a two way improvisation that unfolds before you. You cannot create that kind of headspace and interrupt it 3 times an hour to sell auto insurance or toilet paper. You can't.
This is where you, the Patrons come in. I need your financial support to keep the podcast commercial free. PLUS, your support will enable me to create video content and extra written content that will only be available to the Patrons. Let's walk this road together.
Thank you for your support!
