Hi,

my name is Jakob. During the past 18 months, I have decided to make drastic changes to my life. I started reading self-improvement books, non-fiction on almost any topic (usually focused on the psychological aspect), and tried many different systems to see what could get me to work on achieving my goals most consistently. What I noticed first was: This is hard. Actually working on your dreams is way harder than spending all of your free time with shows, Anime, and video games. The second thing I learned that when you are on the difficult path, you learn a lot of invaluable lessons about how to keep yourself on track and balancing social, work and private life. At some point I read “Own the Day, Own Your Life” by Aubrey Marcus. In Chapter 16, he talks about building your own Ethos out of all the lessons you have learned. A set of guiding principles completely ingrained into your brain and that provides the foundation for any decision you make. So I started writing down the lessons I was learning onto a piece of paper and revised every night. Some are quite specific, some very general, but I am 100% sure that all of them have helped me to become a better person, more effective worker and live a happier life.
On my blog, I write about the lessons I have learned. I try to actually give examples, explain why the lesson works and most importantly: How to apply it and make it stick. I publish one article every weekend.
