Hello there, potential patrons! My name is Cameron Ward. Online, I go by the title of Cam’s Eye View. Over many years of my life, I have grown to love multiple subjects, like films, cooking, animation, and, of course, gaming. I have been interested in video games ever since I received my Nintendo 64 in the late 90s. My first ever video game experiences include some of the classics like Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, and Aladdin on my cousin’s Super Nintendo. Back in 2008, I beat Super Mario Galaxy for the Wii, and that inspired me to start writing reviews. I expanded into editorials about gaming, video game Kickstarter projects, top 10 lists, and developer interviews. After a while, I became interested in writing reviews/editorials for animated and certain live-action films.

My goal is to be 100% honest with my work. The opinions you see in these articles are my actual thoughts.

Why Should I Support Your Work?

So, that leads to the biggest question of why you should become a patron of mine. Well, as far the gaming side of my site/Patreon goes, I post reviews, editorials, interviews, lists, and Kickstarter Shout-outs. I will be upfront with everyone, and you won’t get anything shady out of me. I won’t take review copies of games that have post-release embargos. I won’t take deals in really crummy paid promotions, and I won’t review games that I haven’t played. If I haven’t played it, or have had limited experience with it, like some kind of beta gameplay, then I won’t review it. Even then, any beta experience will be a “Thoughts On” first impression type of article. If I am a part of any paid promotion, which would be one that has no restrictions on me and my opinions, or have received a review copy of a game, I will be sure to be upfront about it from the very beginning. I might review a game down the line that I missed when it was originally released, or create something else, like an editorial or list about the game.

As for the film review side, I write with the same standards as the game reviews.

I have been running my website for several years now, and have been reviewing games since 2008, with over 400 reviews. If this Patreon becomes successful, I hope to be able to make a living off of what I love to do, and have it result in consistent revenue. Another goal of this Patreon is to be interactive with you the public/patrons. Do you have a question to ask me about anything gaming/movie related? Do you want to suggest or recommend an old or new game to me? Well, you can go right ahead and ask me about anything related to gaming and other forms of entertainment. If you are a patron, and want to play certain multiplayer games with me, I’ll make sure to add you to any console or PC I have.

So, if you decide to support me and my work, here is what you are going to get.

Game Reviews

These are the articles that started it all. You will get reviews of games, old and new. You will get nothing, but honesty and to-the-point details about these games. I will talk about the story, the gameplay, the history behind the game, the people behind the scenes, the overall presentation, and the good, bad, and ugly stuff about them.

Thoughts On

These are my editorial pieces that you will see alongside Kickstarter Shout-outs. Thoughts On will tackle my, well, thoughts on upcoming games or certain topics that are about the game industry as a whole.

Cream of the Crop

These are lists. You know, Top 10 Games of E3, Top 10 Best Games of 2027, and so on and so forth. Pretty easy to explain, and if I ever talk about a game more than once, I will make sure to hyperlink those individual lists where I mention them.

Kickstarter Shout-outs

These editorial pieces are my thoughts and concerns about video game Kickstarters that are actually worth your time and potential investment. I won’t just cover any regular/bad Kickstarter. These have to stick out in terms of being promising. I have guidelines as to which ones I will talk about. If your Kickstarter doesn’t impress me, then you need to trash it, work on it, give a hoot, and then try again. Anyway, since Kickstarter has become flooded with projects that are quite poorly put together, like the quality assurance behind Steam, you will only get the best of the best Kickstarters with these articles.

Dev Talk

This is where I will be interviewing developers of upcoming indie games

The Other Side of Animation

These are the reviews/editorials/lists focused on animated films, big and small.

Play It Again!

These are my positive reviews of live-action films that are fun to watch more than once!

Will I be doing Reward Tiers?
At this point in time, I will not be doing reward tiers, but you never know about the future!

Of course, no one is forcing you to support my Patreon, and if you don’t see something you want to invest in, don’t worry about it. If you want to leave me a suggestion or message about what I could do better to make you a potential investor, then by all means, send a message! My goal here is to be honest, upfront, interactive with the patrons, and be all-ages appropriate. If you like what you see, consider being a patron. Thanks for reading, and have a complimentary future thank you if you choose to become a patron!

$11.48 of $500 per month
I have to start somewhere right? For this goal, I will be starting small and see if I can get to this much first. If I can, I will be able to do more reviews of modern games on time instead of waiting a few weeks/months to either get to them or not.
