Do you, or someone you love, need help writing or finding your voice? Contributions at this level will net you (or your loved one) detailed feedback on a piece of writing up to 30 pages in length in addition to the previous recommendation tier.
I'll help you (or your loved one) solidify your writing voice, tailor the piece to your audience, and how to create a compelling case using your words with my feedback.
My name is Keith Andrew Hathaway, the owner of Can't Stop the Movies, and was the cohost, editor, and producer of the podcast Changing Reels. What started as a blog among friends has become a passion of mine, and as they began teaching or doctoral work I continued with Can't Stop the Movies to build on the solid foundation we started on. Can't Stop the Movies now boasts over 1,500 reviews, various think-pieces, and director projects where myself and an occasional partner go through every movie in a director's filmography.
Why Patreon?Because I want to keep Can't Stop the Movies ad-free while continuing my goal of writing better informed, and inclusive, criticism.
The contribution relationship:I want you to contribute because you like my work, want to see Can't Stop the Movies continue, and experience more in the future. When I've got a special topic or idea I like to reach out to other writers for bonus features.
What you're contributing to:
The big one.
Contributing to Can't Stop the Movies means I'll be adding to the 1,500+ reviews already available, new director projects like a planned deep dive into the films of Zack Snyder, and dipping more into the well of television like my look at season 2 of True Detective.
My latest project is in its infancy and you have the chance to shape its future. Pixels In Praxis is my attempt at deepening the ongoing critical discussion about video games and their affect. When I'm joined in conversation, I pay the contributor, and supporting Can't Stop the Movies means also supporting my partners when they dive in with me.
