As a kid, I questioned how my parents managed to allow me to colour and sketch on the walls of our home. Today, I understand that art has always been my calling, and I am on patreon because I want to fully dedicate myself to my profession (community engagement) and my passion, art. By pledging, you support my ideation process, the implementation of the projects, and enable me to seek opportunities for unorthodox collaborations and meaningful results.

I want to THANK YOU for taking some of your time to visiting, and supporting, my continued efforts to creatively engage communities, and promote open and free dialogue around critical topics.

Take a look at the projects I'm currently working on, and join me in making them happen!

RUDE VAGINA
a crowd-sourced feminist zine about the female sexual experience
estimated launch date: (end of) july 2018
website II instagram
This project is a creative and bold response to the restricted narrative of female sexuality, which has been historically saturated with restrictions and mysticism, making it a challenge for people, especially females, to openly talk about it and interrogate it.
This kind of project only works successfully when it holds a solid community engagement basis. This means that the content of the zine, and thus its foundation, relies on community input, on personal stories and encounters shared by the females in our community.

catsinmydreams
an erotic zine for the female gaze
launch date: june 2018
# of copies: 50
instagram
Exploring and interrogating the role and place of the female gaze.

INVISIBLE BORDERS TRANS-AFRICAN PROJECT: Lagos to Maputo
August - November

The Invisible Borders Trans-African Road Trip Project, a project where about a dozen artists (including photographers, writers, filmmakers and performance artists) collectively take road trips across Africa to explore and participate in various photographic events, festival and exhibitions while engaging on a daily basis with the environment and the people encountered. The emphasis is primarily on the collective journey of the participating artists who, during their momentary stops in capital cities, create photographic, video and textual works that often reflect their individual approach to engaging with local artists, art practitioners and the inhabitants.

Make sure you pledge to find out more information, access exclusive updates, and find out ways you can personally contribute and be a part of the project! :)
