Kia ora * Talofa lava * Up2 * Hello
I'm Coco.
I am a Māori Samoan German femme woman hailing from Auckland, Aotearoa New Zealand.
I'm a full-time writer, musician and artist. I also enjoy community work, mentoring and art-based activism.

I produce my creative work under the name Jessica Hansell or Coco Solid. I am proud to be telling stories on my terms, building images and archetypes, trying to empower (or at least entertain) my people, while moving culture and conversations when I can.

A Patreon stipend, no matter how small, helps me independently create and focus on the projects, people and ideas that I think are important. This year I was dangerously caught in the freelance crossfire a lot waiting for deposits to drop and projects to resume. This Patreon is just to futureproof and support myself - while making cool, specialised, no-filter things for an audience that will enjoy them. Maybe it will give me the odd bit of fun and sovereignty as a pressurized indigenous woman in the 21st century, who knows!
I will always grind regardless of who has my back, but it's pretty cool you're even considering it! Pick a reward, support ya girl and read below for a portfolio glimpse of my werk.
