Life in the modern world is a huge challenge. We are continually exhorted to stay current. It's no wonder that nearly 80% of Americans suffer physical symptoms caused by stress. I hope these essays and stories help you reduce that stress and its ill effects.

It's been my experience that it doesn't help to try to shut the world out in any way. Perform conceptual judo and use distractions to your benefit. Rather than battling to stamp them out, use them to fuel your insights. It becomes possible, even easy, to notice how like an opening blossom a match head is as it bursts into flame. Or that even the face seething with anger right in front of you is beautiful.
Each month I will send you drafts (for publication reasons) of essays and stories that are near the ends of their revision cycles. Hopefully you will find them entertaining and worthwhile. Of course, feedback would also be greatly appreciated but is in no way expected.

My ultimate goal, of course, is to support myself with my writing and though that may be something of a stretch goal, there are other goals along the way. Please see my goals section for a complete list.

In addition to the writing, I am currently a stay-at-home dad taking care of our 1 year old son. Thankfully, writing is one of the few things I can pursue at the same time. In fact, the baby is taking a nap while I write this.

In the past I have worked as a software engineer, refurbishing houses for the economically challenged, and worhed for a magazine devoted to bringing people together. I have been dedicated to strengthening the community my whole life and continue in that spirit. The kindness of people is continually inspiring.

Please check out the levels and benefits that are available and if you have any suggestions, I'd be glad to hear them.

Thank you and be well.
