About Eric Spring

As some of you that follow me on Dihydrogen Monoxide Awareness already know, I've been dealing with some pretty severe health issues behind the scenes. I'm no longer able to eat and receive all my nutrients through a PICC line to my heart, I have multiple fistulas that have formed in different areas, I have an incision in my stomach that's draining into a bag, and I've spent most of my mornings at the hospital getting antibiotic infusions to treat infections that keep popping up. I've been stuck in this same cycle for a few months now. Sounds fun, right?

Dealing with these constant health complications has led to major delays with my Kickstarter documentary, as it was right after purchasing the filming equipment that things really started going downhill. I'm now in the process of trying to get everything caught back up, and to help speed things up since I'm no longer able to work a regular job, I'm launching a new project called Through My Lens.

The title basically says it all. While I continue to film for The Dihydrogen Monoxide Conspiracy, I will also be taking my camera to different events, concerts, landmarks, and so on to gather footage for side jobs/projects and edit together a video blog to share my experiences as seen Through My Lens. Patreon subscribers will be able to view the video series early along with extra footage & behind the scenes clips, and can receive coupons for the DHMO store (which will be expanding to include a broad range of science related merch, as opposed to just DHMO related).

What to expect:

- Science videos, of course. Aside from clips from my documentary, I will also be putting together educational science shorts and conducting interviews with experts working in different fields. I already have an interview with Dr. Kevin Folta for my documentary that I will be sharing clips from. Plus, I live within driving distance of Kennedy Space Center, so I will be looking to film launches as well.

- Charitable organizations and inspiring individuals working to make the world a better place. The news is full of negative stories, so I'd like to focus on the positive ones, and shine a light on those that are helping others, while getting involved and giving viewers the opportunity to as well.

- Music from multiple genres. From live performances to private sessions and interviews.

- A whole lot of random. From steampunk festivals to protests to wrestling events, if they'll let me film, I'll be there with my camera.

I'd really rather not beg for GoFundMe donations if I can offer at least SOMETHING in return, so I guess we'll see how this goes.
