Hi, I'm William and I'm the creator of Drafting Table Press. We’re currently in the process of making a modular sandbox adventure for D&D and other OSR RPG systems. What is a modular sandbox adventure? To put it simply, we’re making a sandbox area with a number of plot hooks, locations, encounters, NPCs to be used in play. It will be able to be run as a both a standalone adventure, or for individual encounters/locations/plot hooks to be used individually in your own homebrew game.

The first adventure will be the Ruins of Old Doldale. It focuses on the lands surrounding the ruined city of Doldale from my homebrew setting, and will feature some aspect of the city itself. It will be split into at least 3 sub-areas, each containing their own settlement, encounters, locations, NPCs, plot hooks, and random tables. There will also be an overarching adventure to tie all the sub-areas together, and individual character plot hooks to each location. We are focusing on low level play, specifically levels 1 to 5, as we’re going for a classic fantasy feel.

Each month a new location and encounter will be released, with rough maps. Eventually There are plans for everything to be written up and then published in a PDF with professional art, layout, and maps. The finished PDF is expected to be at minimum 50 pages long, and probably closer to 100 in total. Everything is currently being written for 5e D&D using the OGL, and any custom creatures or NPC stats will be included in the encounter/location.

The current state of writing is that I have a breakdown of three areas, with a fourth possible area, and I am writing up encounters and locations for the forest sub-area. I’ve got the forest section of the overarching adventure mapped out, and a number of other encounters and locations with corresponding plot hooks already decided on.

With your funding I will be able to dedicate more time to writing this adventure, and commission art and maps for the adventure.

Will allow me to publish an extra encounter each month.
