As most photographers, I began with a hobby that turned into a passion. That passion became a profession. I started freelancing sports photos for the local newspaper in high school. I also photographed much of the high school yearbook during my senior year. I took a couple of fine art photography classes in university and studied journalism. After photographing a co-workers wedding I found myself rather in demand as a wedding photographer. I worked as a second assistant to Theo Westenberger in Tampa, Fl for the August 6, 1990 cover of Newsweek magazine "The Most Hated Man in Baseball". I learned a great deal from her and her first assistant on that shoot. In my last two years at the University of South Florida, I served as Photography Editor for the USF Oracle. As such, I managed all of the photographers, the darkroom, budget, and determined which photos would run for every daily edition. The Oracle won the auspicious title of Best College Daily in the Nation two consecutive years. I have freelanced to newspapers, international magazines and served as a team photographer for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
These days I am fairly limited during my recovery from significant spinal procedures, but I hope to return to full capacity in the near future. I photograph my three Great Danes and still life pieces from the comfort of my own home.
