About Eshe Kiama Zuri

Welcome to my Patreon page, I'm Eshe Kiama Zuri, 23 years old, Black, Queer, intersectional, political activist and vegan, amongst many other things. My pronouns are they/them and I am non-gendered.

Thank you for donating, this is the only money I have to survive on every month as a tireless activist who doesn't receive benefits anymore and does paid work only enough to cover my rent, to be able to give me the freedom to provide all the services and support I do, fully not-for-profit. Thank you for helping me buy food, pay my phone bill and survive! ❤️

I'm wanting to create a space where I can continue my years of dedicated educating and awareness raising of the many campaigns and causes I support, run and am a part of.

We need to start financially supporting people (as a form of reparations and payment) who are putting their lives on the line in activism, who are taking the time to teach and educate people and especially those who are from marginalised communities where existing alone is a radical act against the white supremacist state. I haven't attended university and I was homeschooled through secondary school, so all my work and words come from a real place and are relevant to my life, my struggles and the campaigns and causes I tirelessly support.

I will add a small look into my profile as a way to show you what your money will be supporting and what content you can expect from my Patreon. Please contact me if you'd like to find out more about any of these campaigns or ask me any questions about the many campaigns which I've not listed below.

- Creator of Notts Activist Wellness, a new project which is still in the process of being set up, but has already put on Notts Big Queer Picnic and Mama Marsha's Big Queer Party, the first ever alternatives to Nottingham Pride. We have just launched Notts Queer Pride, 3 days of unfunded, grassroots intersectional events for 2019.

- Creator of Vegans Of Colour UK Instagram and Facebook page which highlights the UK's Black and POC owned vegan businesses.

- Co-admin of Vegans Of Colour Facebook group, a safe space for Black and POC vegans and veggies.

- Co-creator of UK Mutual Aid. An intersectional group for supporting marginalised people in the UK. Offers both financial and resource, service and product based support as a community.

- Co-organiser of Shut Down Morton Hall Campaign, including organising demos and events, fundraising and social media. Co-organiser of Shut Down Yarls Wood - Hunger For Freedom demo with unfollowmfj and Unis Resist Border Controls.

- Activist aligned with BLMUK and Black Lives Matter Nottingham, including publishing content for their Facebook pages and taking part in local and national actions, including the Aug 5th #ShutDown action in 2016. This action #ShutDown Nottingham city centre to protest for Black Lives and resulted in arrest.

-Activist aligned with East Midlands Antifascists, focusing on challenging the cishet white male norm in these spaces and bringing inclusivity and intersectionality to the conversation. This has resulted in multiple public smear campaigns, abuse and threats from national antifa groups.

- Animal rights and vegan activism over 10 years, also focusing now on challenging the cishet white male norm in these spaces and bringing inclusivity and intersectionality to the conversation. Also focusing on challenging food and culture appropriation, fat shaming and diet culture and fascism in the vegan and animal rights movements.

- Human rights campaigner, advocating for Sex Worker rights, LGBTQIA+ rights, refugee, asylum seeker and immigration rights and rights for all marginalised people.

- I offer event organising skills for large and small scale events with previous experience in fundraisers, gigs, workshops, marches, meetings, training and catering. I have organised and co-organised activist events with up to 2,000 people.

- I also offer public speaking for any of the campaigns and causes I am aligned with. Check out my Facebook page for my VegFest (cancelled) speech on whiteness in veganism.

- I also offer intersectionality, inclusivity, diversity, accountability and transparency workshops and training. Previously have given consultation to Lush UK on these issues, as well as local and national grassroots organisations.

'Renowned for their advocacy of direct action over appeals to authority, they have been involved with campaigns as diverse as UKUncut and Occupy, more recently being described by the Daily Mail as "mocking" following their action to shut down Nottingham, as part of the Black Lives Matter movement.
A dedicated antiracist and antifascist, they have been ironically voted as social justice warrior of the year by a well known right wing group.
Their main focus is on intersectionality and critiquing activism in its current state, especially around racism and the inclusion of Queer Black and People Of Colour in Antifa, animal rights, human rights and sociopolitical movements.'
