Splitting my life down the middle between music and literature has never been an issue for me. One seems to breathe life into the other. I wrote my novel Two Hunters mostly in the silence of a sedge meadow, deep inside the dark boreal cathedral of the Quetico-Superior region, and lying on sandy outcrops overlooking sheen-drenched lakes near the Mississippi Headwaters. I conceived most of the music for the Aitas album while being tossed around by the sweaty waves of twenty-something crowds that roared and writhed in packed-tight clubs. Silence and sound are not opposing forces in my life.

Through my e-zine Taiga Quarto, I have taken up the task of melding the world of nature, music, and scene together. I am increasingly studying (and toying with) the interface between culture, environmentalism, politics, and history. From these points of reference we end up with scene.

Silence is not my escape route from the loud places.

So here on Patreon, I offer two things: Silence or Sound.

Literature, or music.
Private concert, or worlds-on-pages.

Thank you for all the support through the years. Now join me in walking the synchronous bridge between the noise and the noiseless.

If if I reach 500 by the end of the month (short notice, I know!), I will be releasing a children's chapter book about the region of choice of the highest donating patron! The patron will receive a copy of the book, which will be part of the new series, Nightmare National, a scary (and educational) fiction stories about different geographic regions across the nation. The books are intended to draw young readers- especially boys- who may be falling behind, into the world of literature. I use humor, action, and monsters as my mode of operation. My half-decade of experience in the educational field has helped me to build a series that incorporates geography, history, and vocabulary, into fast-paced fiction. Thank you!
