Welcome to my Patreon.

One of my dreams is to one day make my living from telling stories that encourage people to grow, explore, and challenge themselves-and those that challenge them- like the heroes they admire. One of my other dreams is to be a good father and gift my son the sense of stability that I lacked growing up. Thus far, I've solo focused on the latter goal, building a strong career in the IT space. However, earlier this year I published my first book (a 375 page brick of IT knowledge, only interesting to those in the SAP community) and I now know exactly what it takes to make the first goal a reality!

So, what do I want to write about? What kind of stories do I have to tell? Well, I believe that the best stories- those of adversity, struggle, and eventual triumph- can only come from experiencing the traits that make them great. When a story is told without experience, it feels empty. Like it's missing something. That's because we look to stories for guidance: to learn what we should do if ever we should befall a similar fate to the hero. If the author has never left home, what guidance can he provide through a hero embarking on an adventure? Can an author who as never raised a child, describe the feelings of a parent as they make tough choices? Can he truly guide his hero through the darkness of loss, if he himself has never witnessed the death of a sibling? I want to write stories the empower people to persevere. My stories will challenge my heroes. They will be pushed to their breaking point, and then past it. Because that's what life does to us all, and stories, more so than any advice column or wise mentor, give us a tiny bit of experience to draw from when we need it most. I also want to write about robots. Because robots are awesome!

As far as execution goes, I plan to start with a number of archs and hone in on those that resonate most with people. That means I will be maintaining a few stories at once. Subscribers will receive updates on ALL stories as they are available. Thank you so much for entertaining the idea of supporting one of my dreams!
