About G-man the Black Film Nerd

Welcome to G-man Studio!

Thank you for taking the time to visit my Patreon page. If you aren't aware I'm the Gman and I create video essays on Black films, and art featuring Black people.

I've fallen in love with video essays exploring films, and I'm excited for the recent film/tv renaissance featuring Black creatives more prominently. However I noticed that not many creators talk about or critique Black film with the same vigor or passion they would a: Marvel movie or a Spielberg film. That's no shade to those creators, they are talking about what they love and I've learned so much from them. I realized that I wanted to see more content critiquing Black Film/TV old and new because Black creatives and filmmakers have always been here doing the work.  So whether you're looking for someone to talk about your favorite Black movies, or you're looking for a "Black Film Studies", you've come to the right place!

This concept of a community and Patreon page exists in several stages for me. The First Stage is doing this full time and generating healthy discussions around the art that we've come to love. As well as creating something original from time to time, to put the ideas we talk about into practice.
