I am Nilang Gor. I live in Berkeley and work in a pharmaceutical company as a Process Development Engineer. But I share a strong interest in helping people understand that we live in the world with a close relationship to one another and our well being is interdependent. And therefore, I invite people to work in their field of interest with a sense of Empathy. I do this through my meetup group https://www.meetup.com/Cultivate-Empathy-An-Innate-Solution-of-Our-Social-Issues/. The group believes that lack of Empathy is an underlying problem behind our social issues and injustice. Whenever we stop empathizing with a group of people, a new social issue is born. For an example, when we stop empathizing with people based on color of their skin, racism is born. We believe that all of us already have empathetic heart but it is limited to our family, friends and pets. So we encourage people to open their empathetic heart to all through reaching out to various organizations in our communities and provide a free presentation on Empathy in the area of their interest. This way we are cultivating culture of empathy for all. We have already provided presentation at World Peace Pledge and Berkeley Animal Rights Center.

I recently scaled up our efforts by transitioning from a meetup group to an organization called Cultivate Empathy for All. This organization will also provide a platform for many innovative approaches through which we can cultivate empathy for all. I would truly appreciate if you have any feedback and/or suggestion after reviewing my work. I am really passionate about start doing this work full time so please support me in bringing empathetic mindset to government, business and social work sectors through systems thinking (understanding of our interdependence).

Thank you so much,
Nilang
