I love making videos, tutorials, and other things that help us all get a little bit smarter. Sometimes it's about sharing a practical skill I've learned, other times about passing on some wisdom someone gave me along the way. I dig the way the internet makes it possible to connect and learn across vast distances.

The conventional wisdom suggests that you have to find Big Problems to solve if you want to be successful—but I've often found the opposite to be true. Figure out how to fix an obscure mid-90s espresso machine and people will beat a path to your door. Talk directly and honestly about what to say when someone is thinking about suicide, and you'll have plenty of folks to listen. It's often enough to focus on small pieces.

Some of the things that interest me:
– Taking things apart and fixing them
– Adaptive reuse of physical items, skill sets, and ideas
– Building useful things
– Scottish and Irish traditional music, especially on bagpipes and flute
– Systems thinking, especially as it relates to process management, performance improvement, training design, and mental health

I'm grateful for the support of Patreon supporters in helping me to afford the tools and time to keep making new tutorials and videos. Thank you!
