home/school/life is the smart, secular magazine for homeschool families. Every quarter, we publish a seasonal issue full of practical inspiration and ideas for the months ahead, journalistic pieces on issues specific to homeschoolers (what cities are the best for homeschool families? what are non-college alternatives for homeschool grads? where are all the homeschoolers of color?), secular curriculum reviews, and more.

Why Patreon? HSL delivers tons of free content every month on the blog — explore our archives, and you'll find five years' worth of book recommendations, unit study ideas, homeschool FAQ, and thoughtful features on homeschool life. We do this without accepting advertising from non-secular curriculum companies and without trading editorial coverage for advertising revenue, which means that we don't make a lot of money with the magazine. We're okay with this! But it often means that our editors have to focus on work that pays the bills rather than on the creative, fun stuff we'd like to do for HSL. Your Patreon contribution will allow us to bring back the podcast, host live chats, publish more resources and bespoke book lists, and maybe ultimately even increase the number of issues of the magazine we publish each year.
We have the best readers in the world, and we're thankful for every one of you whether you decide to support us on Patreon or not!

You're So Nice!
$1 or more per month

In addition to our serious gratitude, you'll get access to a special patrons-only blog, where you'll get exclusive content at least twice a month, including early access to new episodes of The Podcast with Suzanne and Amy.

Content may include new podcasts (before they go live on the website), book reviews and recommendations, thoughts about my personal homeschool life that I'm a little too shy to post on the main HSL blog, planning tips, book study guides, and other homeschool-related writing.

You're Winning at Library Chicken
$5 or more per month

You'll get access to the aforementioned patrons-only feed, plus access to a monthly live chat, where we can talk about whatever homeschool-y, bookish, nerdy stuff you want! (You can submit topics in advance.)

You'll also get one special, just-for-our-awesome-patrons bonus episode of The Podcast with Amy and Suzanne every year.
