About Hugh Hollowell

Hi there.

Since 2007, I have been writing and speaking about how we can make the world as it is into the world as it could be. Currently, that looks like a blog, a weekly newsletter, and a curated Facebook feed. Plus articles published in other places, like The Huffington Post, Red Letter Christians and elsewhere.

All told, that is a lot of content. And it is a lot of work.

And it is all free.

I like free. Free is equitable, and free means the people who need it most have access to it. But in order for it to be equitable for me, I need people who are willing to support that work, so it can be free for everyone else. In other words, I need Patrons.

So I created this Patreon page.

Here is how it works:

You select the level at which you want to support my work, ranging from $3 a month to $30 a month. Then Patreon will automatically hit your account up each month, so you don’t have to remember to hook me up. It all happens automagically.

You may be wondering why, exactly, you would want to do that. I mean, do you get something out of it? Do you get free swag? Advance copies of my new book? Exclusive behind-the-scenes candid shots of me and the band?

Well - no. No, you get the satisfaction of supporting work that you think should be out there. You get to help make sure I have the budget to keep putting work like this out there. It’s sorta like NPR – some of us pay so everyone can enjoy it. Or buying a book at an indie bookstore you could get cheaper on Amazon – you do it because the store needs to be supported, or it goes away, and by golly, you want to live in a world with indie bookstores.

However: I will occasionally send out things to the people who support me here – advance notice on an article I am publishing, or something unpublished from the archives or other things a true fan would want. And if I ever do manage to write a book, I will tell you about it first, and wrangle whatever discount for you I can.

But mostly? You are just helping me keep arguing for a compelling vision of a better world.

Thank you. Seriously. Thank you for supporting my work, and for helping make it free to the public.

Peace and all good,
