About J E Nice

Well, hello there!
My name is J E Nice (yes, my Mr Men name is Little Miss Nice) and I've been writing stories since I was old enough to hold a pencil and knew what a story was.

I started writing fantasy as a teenager, moving away from stories about ponies and becoming obsessed with shiny vampires.
Then I got bored of vampires and I got blocked. I wanted to write but I didn't have a clue what.

The big change came when The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring came out in theatres. Do you remember that scene when Gandalf lights up Moria with his staff? That scene changed me.
I started writing fantasy as soon as I got home and I haven't stopped.

I mean, obviously I've stopped. I have to eat and sleep and take the dog for a walk.

My first novel, Matter of Time, was published in 2016, followed by Despite Our Enemies and In My Bones in 2017.
It's a trilogy, because fantasy.

I'm now working on my fourth, fifth and sixth novels, not connected to this trilogy. Involving fairies, time travel, flying pirates, more dragons and werewolves.
And I'd like a hand.

Now, I used to be a person who wouldn't have a Patreon page. I had a good, well paid 9-5. I had a life plan and everything. And then the job turned sour, it made me ill. I mean, really ill. I had to quit to save my sanity and turned to self-employment.

Self-employment is wonderful! But it takes time to earn money to pay the bills. So, while I'm building my businesses, I'd love a hand.

Well, that's part of the reason for this Patreon page. The other part is that I keep coming up with these AMAZING ideas and treats I want to give to my readers, but I can't afford to do them. I want you to be involved but I can't quite do it the way I want to yet, so this feels like to next logical step.

Can't I just buy your books?

Yes! Yes, you can. Please do.
And leave a review. Us writers love it when readers leave reviews.

But by supporting me, you will get so much more than the books.
You'll become part of a community, get access to wonderful things and my undying love.

What books are coming up?

For 2018, I have a goal of writing three first drafts. It's so that I can hit 2019 running. I'm currently on my second first draft.

Later this year, I'll be releasing the first book in the Erica Murray Mysteries series. And no, it doesn't have a title yet... I'm working on it!

What's this Treehouse Club you mention?

Ah, yes. I also run Write into the Woods (www.writeintothewoods.com), teaching and supporting people to write fiction.
The Treehouse Club will be opening its doors in October 2018 and will be a community for fiction writers to learn, support each other and write.

Want free things right now?

Okay! You can get my first novel, Matter of Time, for free right here, right now.

Plus, you can join my Facebook group for geeky readers here.

Goals
$0 of $50 per month
$50 a month will cover one full day in a coffee shop a week to focus completely on writing while my parents look after the puppy. That's 7,000 words in one day!
Which means more books for you! And not just novels. I hope to start writing more short stories and novellas too.
