I'll certainly begin by telling you about myself and why I absolutely love what I do. But first I'd like to thank you for engaging in the Patreon platform. What makes you want such direct, hands-on associations with creators? Why are you compelled to go beyond the POS, to simply carry something home, send an assistant out to collect a piece, or wait until you hear about something from someone else. I think it's because like me, you're an original. You set the stage, make the moment happen, and simply don't wait for anyone or anybody to tell you what to like, buy, and really - really truly - support. Patronage is old. It's noble, and it's honorable. This is my thank you to being that patron - later I will thank you for considering my work and my work ethic, but for now, clearly, thank you for being just who you are.

Now as for me, I'm about ink. Inks and papers. I marry them - blending shapes, images, characters, negative and positive spaces, and blessings - together in a myriad of forms, mainly in Hebrew and Arabic, informed by Japanese shodo. I'm about Nature. It's not unusual to find leaves, feathers, gold flecks, tree sap, or other organic material embedded into my work. I grew up in the shadow of the Olympic National Rain Forest in Washington State. My travels take me to the world's Far and Middle East (from a Western European perspective) lands. At age ten I began my attachment to the written form. Fast forward a few decades and my small work increasingly became large work. I call what I do, calligraphics, because it is a coming together of calligraphy and graphic art. Form communicates as much as content in my work. Seeing and feeling is many times stronger than understanding in my blacks and whites. I'd like you to simply enjoy the relationship you see. Most importantly, Thank You so much for looking here, this moment, these blinks. May you see the space between the lines, letting your sight sweetly marry this ink. May you hear its silence, and may your breath feel its rhythms.
