Watch the Process

Original, never-before-seen fiction and behind-the-scenes access is your reward at this level! At least once a month I'll post a portion of a current work-in-progress as well as detail the process I'm using to bring that story to life.  These will be rough drafts before the final polish and you'll be seeing them fresh off the press, along with premise statements, scene cards, and the like. Patrons will also receive an electronic copy of the work whenever it eventually gets published.

My name is Joseph Nassise and I'm a New York Times and USA Today bestselling writer (primarily of urban fantasy) as well as a writing instructor and coach.  Over the last eighteen years I've published more than 40 novels with a variety of major publishers in the U.S. and abroad, such as Simon & Schuster, HarperVoyager, Tor Books, Harlequin, Droemer Knaur, Eksmo, and more.

But publishing's a fickle business. You're only as good as your last book and publishers are ever more insistent on getting "more of the same but different." This means writers are constantly being asked to produce stories that resemble other known successes or that fit into categories that are easy to market and sell. Heaven help the writer who wants to produce cross-genre epics or write quirky, original stories that are unlike anything else on the market!

That's where Patreon comes in. By creating a system that lets patrons support the artists whose work they enjoy, Patreon bridges the gap between an artist and their audience while doing away with the middle man. It allows a writer like me to continue producing stories for fans regardless of current trends (like writing more urban fantasy when New York publishers have arbitrarily decided that urban fantasy is dead!), while at the same time letting me experiment with genres that I might not have written in before.

The money I raise via this Patreon account will help me keep food on the table and the lights on in the house while I continue to produce the kinds of novels that you, my fans, want to read. Obviously that means more books in the Templar Chronicles series, but that's not all that I've got my sights set upon. Being able to release the third book in my World War One zombie steampunk series, The Great Undead War, or the fourth book in my Jeremiah Hunt urban fantasy series, would certainly be high on the list. I want to be able to work on some new projects as well, like The Book of Coming Sorrows, The Midnight Project, and the Rise of the Horsemen.  Your support via Patreon will help me do those things, by giving me time to focus on the writing without worrying about every bill that comes in the door. It will help pay for cover art and marketing and promotion - all the things that go into producing a successful book without the help of a big New York publisher. And I've got a lot of books I want to produce for you!

I know I've said it before but I can't say it enough - thank you for your support! It means the world to me that you want to read my stories and help me continue to produce them well into the future. Together we can continue making new versions of reality for us to adventure in!

$17 of $500 per month
Hooray - utilities paid! When we reach this level, I'll write a brand new short story set in the Templar Chronicles universe and make it available for patrons exclusively for six months. Want the inside scoop on some of the Echo Team's earlier missions? Or how about what happened to Cade when he disappeared into the Beyond after leaving the Order? So many stories to tell...
