About Katie Sahm
Katie Sahm is spreading the Gospel through Art and BeautyArtist website
Hello Friends! My name is Katie Sahm and I am a fine artist creating bold, abstract work in a variety of mediums which reflect my deep love and devotion to the Catholic faith.
Our culture needs contemporary sacred artists who are courageous in sharing their faith and talent with the world. I am called to be such an artist and deeply desire to do God's will and spread the Gospel message through Art and Beauty.
I started Become a New Creation in 2017 and in 2018 God led me to a studio located in a progressive creative park in downtown Indianapolis. This location gives me an opportunity to meet people from all walks of life and enter into conversation about God, scripture, and our Blessed Mother through the lens of dynamic art. I truly believe that in each of these moments, the viewer has encountered something true, good, and beautiful – messages of hope and God’s love for us.
In addition, I have been commissioned to create pieces for religious organizations and sacred spaces. Though, I do not get to meet all those who will encounter my work, I pray and hope they find inspiration and encouragement as they journey through this life and hope in the one to come.
Why do I need Patrons?
After creating numerous paintings over the past few years, I've come realize that the pieces which have had the most impact on others came from my moments of quiet contemplation and deep communion with the Lord. These moments of inspiration are difficult to achieve when I am split in many directions pursuing opportunities that, while still in line with my mission, are not able to cover my bills.
With your help, I will be able to spend more time focusing on what the Lord is asking me to create and less time figuring out how to make ends meet. Supporting me will also give you an opportunity to be a part of my mission. You can now become a "co-creator" of pieces such as Our Lady of Sorrows, Fount of Mercy, Lady of Revelation.
Actually, in the past, patrons of the arts have made possible the great sacred art and spaces we know and love today. Without others to fund their projects and allow them to work from a place of prayerful inspiration, an artist such as Caravaggio may never have created Doubting Thomas or The Conversion of St. Paul!
I need patrons to lend a hand, both through prayer and financial help, to allow me to worry less about my day-to-day expenses and focus more serving the world through Art and Beauty. Thank you in advance for helping me live out the call God has placed on my heart!
With your support, I will be able to continue co-creating with the Lord beautiful sacred art AND you will receive some awesome stuff! Giving any amount is helpful and by becoming a patron, you will be added by name to my daily prayer intentions.
You will be charged the first time you become a patron and then on the 1st of every month afterward. You are also able to change your giving level at any time.
I truly believe this work is not about me, but about lifting up the whole Body of Christ as we journey together toward our heavenly home!
