Kimberly Baxter Packwoodis creating Fine Art
The reward for supporting K Baxter Packwood Studios at this level is my heartfelt gratitude... Thank you for being on the mission with me to create original artwork, to write quailty content for my blog, and to teach whenever possible. I truly do appreciate your help.
All the same gratitude as with the level 1 plus access to members only videos! I share more of an unpolished/unedited version of life in my studios (yes I have more than one studio) in these videos.
At 10 dollars a month you get all of the benefits from level 1 and 2. Plus you will receive one mixed media drawing OR watercolor sketch per year as my way of thanking you for your generous support!
NOTE: If you prefer natural dyed and surfaced fabric (Fat Quarters) instead of a painting please let me know.
About Kimberly Baxter Packwood
I'm a Mixed Media & Fiber Artist living in the heart of the Prairie on the cusp of the Great Plains, in Ames, Iowa! My work represents the landscape around me, rural America. I love working with rusty objects, natural dyes, earth pigments, fabric, paper, and more when I create my original works of art!
What kind of art do you make?
I've been a practicing Mixed Media & Fiber Artist for over forty years, I learned how to embroider at the age of seven, and was given my first sewing machine (a Singer treadle) at the age of nine.
I work primarily with earth pigments, clay, ochres, rust, and found objects in combination with fabric, paper, and sometimes metal and or wood. I love the art of stitching as much as I love painting and drawing and have sought to combine those loves in my latest series At the Marsh and Field Notes.
In high school, my love of mixed media was born in a woodworking shop class, coupled with the sewing classes I was taking as part of Home Economics, outside of class I started creating my own original fiber sculptures incorporating wood, metal, fabric, and found objects.
Drawing, painting, etc., all help me to work through the process of creating each new work of art and each new series.
Do you sell your art through Patreon?
No, however, my patrons at the $10 plus level will receive art that I make exclusively for them once per calendar year. Patreon allows me to share with you behind the scenes of my studio practice.
You will have access to videos where I share my thoughts, challenges, and solutions, as my work develops. I love it when you ask me questions and would love to have a conversation with you! Doing so lets me know what you want to see and learn about my studio practice.
How does this work?
It's simple. You can pledge anywhere from $2 to $100 per month. (Read more about patronage tiers over there on the right.) That money goes directly to me and pays for things such as continued education, studio supplies, studio rent and equipment, food, and insurance. In exchange, I send you art!
You send me Art?
Yes, at the $10 level or higher you will receive an original work of art once per calendar year. You will receive an original: drawing, mixed media painting, watercolor painting, or textile painting depending on the tier you subscribe to each month. Plus, you will also receive Studio Bling.
So what's your day job?
I'm a full-time professional artist I spend upwards of 60 hours a week working in my studio, or I'm out in nature taking photographs of the landscape, sketching, observing, taking notes, etc. When I go out into nature I promise to take videos and photos to share with you!
With your continued support, I will have decades of creation to look forward to in my studios! You can help make that happen by becoming a patron.
Where can I see your art?
